Description

Numerous individuals from their native countries contributed in their own way to this event. Dancers from Congo-DRC and Uganda with Burundian drummers entertained the audience. Members of the Burundian, Kenyan and Ghanaian community contributed to the nutrition aspect of the event. Foods provided include puff puffs prepared by Ghanaians and various delicacies provided by Kenyans. Last but not least, members of the Nigerian community presented the Fancy Dress Acrobat with an outstanding performance of various tricks.
Due to the high success rate of this event, there was a general consensus suggesting more countries should join and contribute to the event. After considering such suggestion and making numerous calls, 41 African country leaders responded and accepted to join.
Following the highly successful 2016 Multiculturalism Day Event that took place at City Hall, the African Canadian Association of Ottawa was officially inaugurated on June 27, 2016.
